Why not just tea? Most people know tea is a natural health drink by itself. Then why transform tea into tisane - herbal tea produced by blending tea with natural herbs and Spices? Just to make it more appealing to drink? To create different flavor profiles? Yes, but those are not the only reasons nor the main reason.
